Medical studies have shown that dancing the tango improves balance, executive function, spatial cognition and disease severity and may slow the progression of PD (The Effects of Adapted Tango on Spatial Cognition and Disease Severity in Parkinson's Disease, Kathleen McKee, MD and Madeleine Hackney, PhD, Emory University School of Medicine).
Studies indicate that Argentine Tango strengthens social networking and improves self esteem (Argentine tango in Parkinson disease – a systematic review and meta-analysis, Lotzke et al. BMC Neurology).
